UK filming in public laws

In Public

If you're an amateur movie maker or a member of the IAC, when making a normal movie in a public location, you will not have any problems with the police unless causing an obstruction. You do no need a permit to film or photograph public places and police have no power to stop you filming.

In Private

Technically all of Britain is owned by someone, owners might be private individuals, companies, organisations or even the Queen etc. These landlords usually have limits on photographing and filming on their land/property as they may wish.
